In the event organized by JSC "Regional Electric Networks" in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank, representatives of member countries of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) are participating.
In order to implement the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 23, 2018 "On measures for accelerated development and ensuring financial sustainability of the electric power industry," JSC "Regional Electric Networks" is actively working throughout the republic on the phased implementation of the automated system for accounting and control of electrical energy (ASKUE). As part of the press tour, participants of the event had the opportunity to study this process on site.
It should be noted that today in 45 cities and districts of the country, more than 1.5 million electricity metering devices have been installed. By the end of this year, the installation of modern electricity metering devices will be completed for 2.5 million consumers, and by the end of 2020, 7 million consumers will be connected to the automated system for control and accounting of electricity (ASKUE).
In particular, in collaboration with the South Korean company "KT Corporation," work is being carried out to install modern electricity metering devices in Bukhara, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions.
– Today, there are 817,862 electricity consumers in the region, – says Valizhon Kilichev, head of the ASKUE department of the Samarkand territorial enterprise of electric networks. – 778,247 of them are household and 39,615 are legal consumers.
As of September 10, 2019, about 267 thousand consumers have been installed with modern electricity metering devices compliant with ASKUE. Of these, 52,300 consumers are already connected to the system, and now the work on monitoring electricity consumption and payment calculations is carried out automatically. 234 specialists have been involved in the installation of electricity meters throughout the region, making the process faster and more efficient.
At the event, journalists were shown presentations on the advantages of this system. The main goal of the event is to convey to a wide audience the work done in collaboration with international partners. As for "smart" electricity meters, we also have a similar system, but it differs slightly from yours. Despite the fact that we have learned a lot from Uzbek and South Korean experts about this system, we continue to ask questions. This format of the event makes it more productive.
